Trustees & Staff

Chairman of the Trustees

Gary Crooks

I have been a member of Avoncroft Arts Society for over 10 years and Chairman since 2021. I mainly paint in watercolour but have attended workshops using pastels and acrylic paint.
I also enjoy travelling, photography and gardening and I keep fit by playing football

Arts Society Accountant

Martin Scrimshaw

I have been assisting the Arts Society since 2019 by keeping the accounts and, at times, maintaining the computers. This work is supported by my background as an accountant and financial systems consultant.

Trustee

Anne Knight

My interest in art began at an early age and as a primary school teacher of 36 years, with an MA in art education, it continued to develop. I joined Avoncroft Arts Society more than 12 years ago, to pursue this interest in a relaxed, encouraging environment. Unfortunately, despite having a large membership, few people volunteer to undertake the vital role of trustee. I decided to do so, to help ensure Avoncroft Arts Society continues to evolve and flourish.

Trustee

Peter Baker

I joined the Society in 2007 when I started in the Monday afternoon painting class. I am still a member of this class, but am now being taught by my 3rd tutor.

After volunteering to help organise the annual exhibition one year shortly after joining, I was asked to become a Trustee, and have been one ever since.

As well as attending my art class, I enjoy reading, gardening, travelling and going to the gym.

Trustee

Brenda Lines

I have been a member of Avoncroft Arts Society for several years. I am particularly interested in watercolour painting and the use of pastels, or a mixture of both.
My other hobbies include photography, cooking, sewing and going on holiday as often as possible.

Trustee

Terence Sharp

Tez Sharp is a local retired engineer originally from Surrey. He trained with W T Avery as an apprentice before progressing to manage his own business for 30 years.
Tez enjoys art, meeting people, and problem solving.

Trustee

Lynda Sharp

Lyn Sharp is a mixed media artist from Bromsgrove, who loves to upcycle everything to avoid landfill!
Lyn ran her own floristry business in Longbridge, Birmingham until 2010, when sadly the decline of Rover had a devastating effect on local businesses
Lyn as someone that has always been artistic, went on to develop her art, taking part in exhibitions & hosting workshop shops

Administrator

Annmarie Hulley

Annmarie has worked as a catering manager for most of her working life and since retiring due to health reasons, she has regained her passion for art, which led her to Avoncroft. Annmarie teaches a drawing class on a Friday morning and has a studio at the Arts Centre.
